Ok, now before anyone takes this the wrong way, what is the big deal about the sushi bars on cruise ships? Now maybe it is just that we have quite a number of sushi bars in my area, and I live in a very small city, Lexington SC, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. I do love sushi and my wife and I eat at our favorite sushi bar about twice a month and we have eaten the sushi on our cruises. To be honest, the sushi on the ships does not even come close to that found in any sushi bar I have eaten in on land. NCL had the worst of all, very dry, and not very fresh at all. I appreciate that the option is there, but the variety is extremely limited as is the overall quality. Anyone else feel the same way, or have I just had too much of this vanilla coke my stepson handed me a while ago?
I agree. I tried the sushi on my recent Carnival cruise and was disappointed. It just wasn't very good. No flavor.
But on the bright side, I could just go eat something else instead, no loss.
(Oops, this is the gripes board, I guess we're not supposed to look on the bright side...)
You are forgiven. We too found something more to our liking. I guess we are lucky to have so many great sushi bars near us, even out here in the sticks. I have been to Japan, and lived in Korea for a year and travelled to Tokyo many times to get my fill of sushi. Maybe I am just spoiled. ;-)
Ok, now before anyone takes this the wrong way, what is the big deal about the steak and lobster on cruise ships?
