Love reading the boards and particularly Chit Chat but can't understand why posters write all sorts of things which really should be emails to their friends ... i.e. thanks for a gift, had a good time visiting with so and so, etc. Seems like that sort of thing should be between the particular friend you're addressing.
With seperate message board "folders" for such a wide variety of topics, CHIT CHAT was created to be a place to go for "coffee club" chat.
Some people used to (And some still do) label their posts OT. I tell em that's not necesssary as CHIT CHAT can be OFF TOPIC by its very nature. Its a good place to get know the personalities of many of the folks posting without intruding on the more on topic message board folders.
I agree with Kuki on this one. There are specific message boards for a lot of specific questions. I enjoy getting to know others who love cruising from reading the chit chat board. I may not always be in on the topic of conversation, but I feel it helps me to get to know these wonderful CM people a little better. Phyll
Chit Chat board was created for this and soimuliar type of messages and basically just a place to post almost anything, (within bounds of good taste). The message boards as set up so that the topics are visible and easy to note. If you don't wish to read part of that particuliar thread, then just skip to the one you wish. This "Gripes" board was created for 'real' gripes about what people want, or don't want to have on cruise ships etc but often it is nothing more than some people making remarks that are really offhanded at best like the males with hairy backs going without shirts.
