Someone Emailed me and asked if I would use icruise again. Emphatically yes. That was above and beyond the call of duty. I was expecting nothing at the worst, a little money off at the best. But this is over a TWO THOUSAND dollar upgrade between the two of us. Incredible.
We're also now entitled to the Skipper's Club program, meaning we don't have to wait in any lines, including embarking. The press release I read said that it was just for year-round ports, but I called Carnival and they said no way, we don't have to wait for anything. Um, being new to cruising, what all DO you wait for?
Since I got the tickets today, this all happened before Cruisemates' Captain Paul Motter even got his Email off. (Thanks anyways Paul!)
So I think part of the latter delay was trying to pull off the upgrade. Of course they can't tell you they're trying, in case it doesn't work out.
I just can't say enough about this. I never, in my wildest dreams, expected them to do something this extravagant to resolve this.
And no need for them to send champagne, I sent it to myself! YEAH!
So, anyone else cruising 6/26 on the Spirit, Party in Denise's Room! It's the gigantic one (415 square foot!) with a lot of screaming inside!
Good for you! Thats awsome. I am afraid i will go into the same nightmare you had because skyauction.com waits unitl the last minute to send you the docs. Hopefully it will work out for us. But thats so cool for you!!!!!
The only problem with all of this Denise is that you will be incredibly spoiled. Now nothing but the Penthouse will do! Good for you! Enjoy.

Actually, I found out that the room was great for parties with friends, but if not travelling in a group, all I need is any balcony available. That balcony was priceless, and we had a few parties on it. I wouldn't mind squeezing around a bed just to get to a balcony. We spent a lot of time there. We passed by the Seabourn Spirit, which had NO balconies, and almost cried for them. Of course, the weather happened to be sunny and wonderful, which helped. But I would have stood out there in long undies and a blanket or three just to see that view. It's pretty sheltered from the wind, unlike the Promenade deck.
Penthouse Suites on the Carnival Spirit don't get you any special service. No butlers or anything to REALLY spoil me for all else. Just more space for parties!
