Similar Ship Names

Why can't the cruiselines think up new names for their ships? Why do some seem to be "stealing" a similar name from another cruiseline?

Someone talks about the Majesty and we have to try to figure out if it's NCL's Majesty or RCI's Majesty of the Seas.

Carnival names one of their new ships the Legend. Excuse me......RCI's Legend of the Seas has been out for years. Why couldn't Carnival think of something else? Why didn't they choose the Legendam?!?! <G> Maybe HAL has something going when they name their "dam" ships!?!?!?!

I'm sure there are other examples too! Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!1

How about the Regal Princess and Regal Empress... if you get those names confused, you're in for a shock.

And whenever I see the name Nordic Empress I think it must belong to Norwegian cruise lines.

That's right! Why don't they name a ship Sir Thomas? Or some of the regular boat names like.....Miss Behavin', Miss Taken, Miss Phitt, ..............nah!

Perhaps they should switch it, just this once, and call her the Damthomas.

Somebody posted something about the Legend, I said I'd just seen her in harbor, then realized it might not have been THAT Legend.
