Default PAX selling On cruise

How many cruisers have had people approach them trying to sell everything from religion to vitamins? Our last cruise (Century) had a large group of vitamin sellers. I think during the 7 days. practically everyone was approached and given a sales pitch! Complaining to Guest Relations was a joke, since on the Century...Guest Relations was "non-existant". "Sellers" beware....don't approach us..we bite... <G>.

I'm with you Rick. I have people trying to sell me pictures of myself all the time. It drives me batty (short trip). An honest -to-God pirate will sneak up behind you at dinner and with coordination comparable to sneaking a Renoir out of a museum a photographer will snap a picture the moment he tries to slit your throat. Whew!!!!! That was close ! !

They are always trying to sell those things too. I say, sell pictures of someone I don't get to see in the mirror everyday, like Cindy Crawford, hell I know what I look like. Why would I buy a picture of ME?????

Regards,
Thomas

GOOD GRIPE RICK!

I was astounded on the Golden Princess a couple of months ago by this very gripe.

A young teenage girl, accompanied by what appeared to be her younger brother, approached me with a flyer and pitched me this:

Have you heard of Mary Kay and the pink cadilacs? Well, my mother is xx$$ away from winning her pink caddy. She is offering a facial and an opportunity to buy Mary Kay products ON BOARD. Would you be interested?

I was lounging in the Lotus Pool area when this happened. Stunned wasn't the word for it when I simply told her no. Now I wish I had followed her, and told her mother what I thought of her as a mother, a cruiser, and well... you get the idea.

Unbelievable.

I have yet to experience this gripe <knocking on wood>, but this would really get my goat. How outrageous.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

Of 11 cruises this has never happened to us. Thank Goodness. We were even seated with a top selling rep of a "health vitamin program" and he never once even tried to explain his program. My daughter is a Mary Kay rep and would never intrude on anyone's privacy during a vacation. It is just in bad taste. I know they teach marketing tips, but its up to each one how they work.

I have to admit this one is totally new to me! Mrs. Kuki has tried to sell me off a couple of times on cruises, but there were never any bids.

Regards,
Kuki

Rick , perhaps it is because you looked like you needed the vitamins that you were approached so many times.
Seriously , I would find this to be quite intrusive to my vacation and would consider complaining to Security that you were being harrassed.
Hope you had nice Holiday's, Happy New Year
Bill

It's hard to believe that some one would use their kids inorder to make a few bucks and not think twice about disturbing their fellow passangers. More and more people have forgotten what respect and privacy means.

That's not true, Kuki.

I offered Geela a buck two-ninety-eight if she would throw in the golf clubs. The clubs were the deal-breaker

Rick,

Maybe it was the worn out lucky hat that was held together by a few strands of cardboard and cloth. You may have been mistaken for a test subject.

And BTW dude, did the lucky hat come home with you are is it shark apparel?

Thomas
