Sorry for bringing up this subject again but I have to say I would like the option to pay cash at the bars instead of having to sign all those stupid receipts. Paying in cash means my bill will never be screwed up. I will never have to go to the purser's desk to correct a bill. I will never have to compare my receipts to the account statement. I will never have to store and catalog the receipts. That means more time for relaxing instead of accounting. Give me the cash option ! ! !
This is the gripes board and I just felt like griping about this again. Sorry.
Some people will say how convenient it is to use the onboard charge card and then you can review your bill in your room on the T.V. To them, I guess, this is convenient. To me it takes away from blackjack time double checking the ship's accounting.
Thomas I have a solution for you. Pay for me to cruise with you and give me a large amount of your cash. I will follow you around and sign all your sign and sail account charges, I will reconcile them for you and settle up for them at the end of your cruise.
I will even carry your luggage, fetch your drinks, save your deck chairs and theatre chairs as well as the stool in front of your favorate slot machine. All you have to do is pay for my cruise.
In the meantime gripe away. No one that can do anything about it is reading this, but, it's cheaper than therapy.
Yes, I definitely prefer the Sign 'n Sail system. For the cruise lines, it is definitely preferable -- no daily cash balancing, everything's electronic. Having many crewmembers responsible for cash transactions actually increases the possibility of errors.
Never happen Thomas. The system as it is now is very convienent and because it is this cashless system people tend to buy more. It is a win-win situation all the way around.

Geez in ten cruises I've been on I've never had a problem with my bill being incorrect, and it only took about five minutes to check it. I can stick a cruise card in my pocket a lot easier than cash!!
Personally I like the onboard charge cards... I think the desire to pay cash only comes about if you're in the restaurant business and have to get rid of some of it (Thomas<G>).
Totally understand you point of view.....but....
Eliminating cash and going with a computerized system cuts costs....dramatically.
You can track your reciepts...but if you get shortchanged, and you walk away, touch luck, if they make a mistake and you ahve a reciept, you get the credit.
Every cloud has its silver linig.
But, I agree from another point of view..if I am using cash, I know when I am going broke!
