Default dressing for dinner

No shorts or tank tops at dinner pleasse. Freestyle dining is great, but lets be respectful of others. It doesnt take that much longer to put on a nice wear of pants and shirt.

Asealady, I think everyone is throwing up his hands because this topic has been beaten into the ground over the course of several discussions. Some of us are traditionalists who don't mind dressing for the occasion. Some readers seem concerned that others are worried about their lack of decorum, although they insist that they don't care what others think. Methinks they protest too much.

Asealady,
Please explain to me why you felt a need to make this post. Does it bother you what others wear?.Unless you are new to these boards( and if you are my apoligies) making a post like that is just asking for trouble,it's like trying to pick a fight. Why would you feel the NEED to do it? Everyone on these boards goes on and on about how they are just going to enjoy their cruise and not pay any heed to what others are doing ( or wearing) but then every once and a while there is a post like this that divides everyone up into two camps. Slobs versus Snobs. No one is really a snob and no one is really a slob but the line seem to go up and the claws come out.
I suppose you could say " well this is a gripe board" and you are correct, it's just been beaten to death and the arguments go in ridiculus circles. No one ever "wins."Find another gripe, there are lots we haven't touched on (lately) ;lol.

Asealady, if you feel that this subject must once again be dredged through this thread again I suggest you go to the two threads listed below and read through them first.

Thank you

C'mon ya'll. Lay off Asealady all right?

We were all newcomers to these boards once and it's not mandated to read through every post on these boards prior to posting yourself. I know we have beaten this subject to death but she has posted her gripe on the Gripes Board.

Welcome Asealady, and post away.

In response to this thread, I prefer to dress nicely for dinner.

Regards,
Thomas

Just back from the Fantasy and I quote directly from the "Carnival Capers" (daily activity newsletter. "FORMAL ATTIRE IS REQUIRED THIS EVENING" Nowhere does it suggest that it is optional or only for those who choose to follow the dress code. Now let the excuses begin...

HI Thomas,

Thank you for your kind post. I have read the other posts about dressing. I see why everyone is upset. Too much of it. No more from me on the subject.

You see why the responses were such on this subject. Dressing for dinner is a hot topic and people are adamant in their position on it. "My vacation" vs. "Conforming".

The nice thing about cruising is there are a bunch of different options for the public to choose from. If you want a high class dressy cruise you can find it. If you want a laid back everything casual cruise you can find it.

Regards,
Thomas

It is but a sign of the times...we live in an era of self-absorbed indifference to others feelings and rules if we don't like it.

It is all Frank Sinatra's fault for singing "I did it my way" ; D
