Default Let's book a "Gripers Anonymous" cruise!

Hey Kuki!

Here's an idea for a CM cruise - a "gripers anonymous" cruise. You can ONLY book if you WON'T gripe if:

1. you see a stain on the carpet
2. miss a port
3. don't get a refund and the captain's first born male child if you miss a port
4. have a smoker blow smoke at your balcony
5. see someone fat

Did I miss any of the biggies? Having cruised through Ivan and Jeanne and had my cruise rerouted AND, more importantly, STILL had a wonderful time, I am just a little weary of the continued posts from people who want a refund and more because their ports were changed......geez.....Right - the same people who BOOKED A CRUISE DURING HURRICANE SEASON!!!!

dorothy (who MIGHT be a little cranky because a huge car repair bill just wiped out my cruise account..... bah humbug)

cute... Dorothy!

I've never been on any other chat thing ever, other than the one where RCCL does their role call (and only on one thread there), and it's kinda weird getting a sense of all these different personalities and personality types. Probably an accurate microcosm of society. You'd have complainers (of course) and generally polite people and some opinionated, and some opinionated and rude. You'd have funny, happy go lucky, miserable, ticked off at life in general...and you'd have the ones that sort of lurk in the background looking at the floor pretending to be interested in the carpet who actually are listening to the conversation. The silent nod/agreement types, and the "postal" types that jump on the thread shooting at everything hoping to hit someone, and of course....the hover around and listen, wait for the moment, post and run types....

.....and the polite, witty, charming, lovable, sagacious, adorably facetious and dashingly handsome types (me...in case you hadn't guessed)......(whoa, that was the biggest load of crap I've spewed about myself since........my wife said "yes")

anyways....it would be neat to actually meet everyone on a "theme" cruise and see how different or similar everyone is in person to how they appear on this board!!

Oh Dorothy,
My number one gripe, people saving lounge chairs on the pool deck on a "sea" day :-)

My gripe is the freakin' Captain never running the ship aground and getting us stuck there for another two weeks.

I've actually been dying to go on one of CM cruises, Banker. Wouldn't it be FUN to meet some of the folks we've already cyber-met? Especially you, since I didn't realize you were such an amazing guy!

Thomas, it's funny, right before we started sailing I heard a couple of run aground stories and thought how hilarious that must be. Never thought about the possibility of an extended cruise until I started sailing. I was sort of wishing the Glory was going to be "stuck" at sea for a few extra days since some of the other ships sailing the week before had that happen.

Thanks for letting me vent, folks. STILL don't have the car back - I picture the hourly labor charge clock just ticking away - and I'm supposed to have left town early this morning (it's noon). Grrrrrrrr......

NO WAY, can you imagine all the REAL Gripers being on a ship together!

The Captain would be calling for the Navy Seals just off Key West to restore order<g>

ps Banker as we say in Scotland "your a real sook", well with our Dorothy you are<gg>

Just one little fly in the ointment, Dorothy-- no matter how many cabins, even if they were all pricey suites, we might offer to book, what cruise line in its right mind would welcome a group of self-described "gripers'? Haven't they got enough problems as it is dealing with the stealth-gripe passengers who don't reveal the true crabbiness of their personalities until embarkation?

Banker - none of the above - over 50 lol. Dorothy - we went to Laughlin, Nevada for a few days. We like doing our part to help out the U.S. economy - the slot machines were very stingy this trip! But, to make up for the disappointment, we booked our trip on the Pride (March 6th) this morning - yeah!!!! She will have to go some to beat the Glory but I'm sure she will treat us well. if we can't manage the whole gripers cruise could we maybe have friends of banker on each cruise? No offence banker you have the silliest sense of humour and i am with jennifer would you now be my mother in law?
i am off to find something to gripe about on land now, think i might go to the supermarket and gripe at the mothers with their children, the people who block the ailes with their trolly, the seniors who move too slowly and then the girl on checkout who is just too slow. Byeee

lexxity,

make sure you're not eating a chocolate bar walking in because that may be against the supermarket's policy of not bringing your own food into the store and consuming it on their premesis,

and be careful, the checkout girl might be bicker on a field assignment!

Jen and lexx, your mother in law is dahingly handsome??!??!??

My "former" mother in law actually (thank goodness!) but that's a whole different gripe lol. And she was pretty ugly, and Polish to boot - but probably had as more facial hair on her chin than most guys :o) I will have to say she was a very good cook though and taught me a lot. My Mum is English so she can't cook - ok that should start something lol. TTFN Jennifer

i shall be dressing in a tiny crop top and little shorts, i shall immediately put on around 200pounds and leave my towels on three sunbeds, whilst i am off touching all the buffett selctions! I shall also drink far too much, actually that is about right for me, i just cannot handle my drink, 4 glasses of wine and I am anybodies (shameful for my age!). We really do need to organise this trip, it would be so much fun!
I know, my dh and i are probably going to do a transatlantic from NY-southampton, we should do that because then we get a good mix of brits us limeys and you yanks and then go rounds on tipping!!

my MIL is darling!
