Default Fully Obstructed Ocean View Cabin

I am bummed...
We paid for an Oceanview cabin for our upcoming cruise and when documents came it said "Fully Obstructed view". I thought this would be partially obstructed which meant ... life boat above or to side of our window. Why would I want to pay for an outside cabin and not have the Oceanview? I will try and call the online TA tomorrow and see what they say. Anyone have any suggestions on what to say or do at this point???
Also... this TA advertised their rates as being $30 less than what they charged us... and then adjusted the rate to what they say it was suppose to be... "was a mistake on their website". Convenient huh? I don't usually whine or complain... REALLY.

If your TA did NOT inform you of the amount of obstruction then I would complain. Usually full obstructed rooms are at a big discount over the non obstructed view. I'd ask for a change in cabin. Or if this will "do" as a cabin this time, I'd ask for on board credits or refund in price difference.

I suppose you still get the ocean breeze, but I *know* you must be disappointed! I would have a chat with my TA and see what can be done, if anything.

dorothy,
An Ocean Breeze? Windows do not open on ships. only balcony doors open.
They would get some light thats all.

I spoke to my TA yesterday and she called the line and said, this is NOT what she or I understood and had us put on waitlist for upgrade. She remembers we talked abt this on phone that this particular cabin was "partially obstructed" with a lifeboat either to either side or above us etc. and was I ok with this. I said, yes but now the documents say "fully obstructed". Soooo... she is going to see and she asked me to call her back next Thurs.
We leave Sat., 3/6 (fly out) and cruise on Sun., 3/7 - Grand Princess - Western Caribbean.
