Default No Corona in cans

Carnival, why oh why do you not carry Corona in cans. We would buy bucket after bucket, but you have to serve it in those plastic cups (since it is only available in bottle on your cruise line) and so it can not be kept cold in those nice buckets.

This is the worse thing I can say about Carnival....come on....please consider this.

I believe I am a part of a silent majority who feel the same way but are afraid to speak out...well I will be silent no more!! I am starting a grass roots effort to bring Corona Cans where they belong, behind the bar on a Carnival cruise ship

Who will join me in my quest....

They don't want glass on the pool surface...which is kinda odd, since you can bring a glass of wine or a drink, from any bar, out on to the deck....hmmm, maybe I am onto something here....when I am laying in the pool, I can get up and go down 17 decks to get a bottle of corona and then go back to the pool.....

you might try another cruise line perhaps? Corona in a bottle with lime served by the pool was enjoyed by all. (Golden Princess)

Didn't even know that Corona came in a can......Will have to check the next time that I go to the store.....But does it taste the same.....bottle as compared to cans.

Somehow it will just be different....no being able to see the lime floating around inside the bottle.

Oh well, what will they think of next?

Must be something new. I have never cruised on any ship where Corona bottles were not available. Including Carnival Legend last spring.

We had buckets of Corona in the bottle by the pool on Enchantment. They also had large draft beers (20 oz) of Heineken and Bass which was a first for me.

just to be clear, they do have bottles on carnival, but they will not let you have them, they pour the bear into plastic glasses (oxymoran??). It just sort of loses something.

I am from Florida, and you can find Corona in cans here (along with strip centers, pawn shops and topless bars...oh yeah, theme parks too). It is not quite a great as the cold bottle with the lime in it (am I picky or what!!!) but it does okay in a pinch.

I just think Corona should be the official beer of cruising.

this is really the worse gripe I can come up with, other than the fact that Adrianna was killed on the Sopranos....ooops, that is for another message board

On every Carnival cruise I've been on, I was able to get the bucket-of-beer with four bottles of Corona at the Lido deck bar inside the buffet restaurant. Maybe take them to the pool from there?

Cheers,
Michelle P.

Why buy a beer that you need to place a lime into to alter the taste? Is there something wrong with the beer? I don't know of any other beer in the world that you do that. Give me 4 good old cans of Bud anyday!!

I don't think I would like Corona in the can anyway, even if it was available. I think all beer tastes better in glass than it does in cans. I think the lime does a better job of flavoring in a bottle anyway. As far as pouring it into a plastic glass, that does nothing. I cut the bottom of my foot by the pool on the Carnival Pride on a broken piece of plastic glass this spring. Anyone who hasn't tried lime in their Mexican beer doesn't know what they're missing. Mexican beer is pretty good with Tequila, too. I've even tried lime with some domestic beers and it wasn't too shabby either.

Tucher is a great German beer served with a slice of orange. I think it enhances the flavor more than alters its taste. It's really just a matter of personal preference.

Cheers,
Michelle P.

Now this is just my opinion.....so no stones or rocks coming my way please!

Budweiser is a beer that could use some lime squeezed into it.

Remember, just my opinion!

I'm with Marky on that. The King of Beers is a delicious beer without having to add citrus. Call me old fashioned, (o.k. you're old fashioned) but if a beer can't stand up on it's own blend of hops and barley and brewing techniques I won't find it appealing at all.

And besides, what happens if you get a lime which is not ripe, or over ripe? Wouldn't this ruin the Corona taste?

Regards,
Thomas

If Anheuser-Busch wants to call one of their beers "the King of Beers", I think their Michelob would be a better choice than their Budweiser. Budweiser's good, but Michelob is better.

Hey, I too love Anheuser-Busch products....I beleive thay are an American Treasure!!! In fact dh and I were in Ireland a few years back and watched a big 'ole Irish man order a Bud Light!!! I mean this is the home of Guiness..and he chose St. Louis's finest!!

I am also afraid that I have sparked, what will soon be a "buy american" debate.

There is just something about that crisp, bitter taste of Corona, that seems to scream....Carribean to me. Can't explain the lime....never gave it much thought....but others have. I am rather zen about my beer....."it just is"

Okay, I need to get away from this desk!!

calling Budweiser the king of beers is like saying a Big Mac is the king of burgers.

I love Michelob, but Budweiser is also a good beer. I can't stand the "skunky" beers though. The delicate yet rich flavor of the premium Anheuser-Busch and Miller products are very good indeed. One of these days I might find light beers tasty too, but so far....NOT!

Thomas

Michelob gets my vote too, but I like Carona. and several other Mexican beers.....but skip the lime...if you don't like the taste of the beer why drink it? No Miller for me because I dont like the pilsner style beer.

Pebbs- Maybe it's because of the Corona commercials... you only get scenery like that in the Carribean. It definatly sets the mood...
