Personally, I think the "hard core" have beaten each other to death on so many subjects, they have got punch drunk and cant face it anymore and they are the ones that make it work.
To be honest tazee on here you get a reply, on other threads its just " I need to know" or "I want" or "can you tell me" and yes these are volume major posts, but no-one replies, maybe one or two to each thread unlike on gripes.
I think we hold all Cruisemates:- worst post, best discussion post, longest running post, most people nearly barred from forum post,,,,,but all posts that the thinking person would take something from.
So new advert,,,,,we need new blood ready to stand up and be a griper and ALL that goes with it.
Also your comment re Gripes, apart from griping about gripes. How many gripes have you made to make it work as a forum?
We need a "gripers anonymous" cruise. That way we could get over it - like a 12 step program. But then what would I do with all the time I spend in here just sitting on my butt and exercising my fingers :o) TTFN Jennifer
I have observed that the number of "gripes" tends to increase every time a major line invokes some new (and usually unpopular) polcy. Things like RCI baning carry on beverages in '01, and more recent "innovations" by HAL and NCL come to mind. It would appear that gripers don't like change -- at least the kind that increaseses cost or denies liberties.
But it has been awhile since any such changes have sprung up. Thus, this board queits down, for lack of subject matter.
I agree with all of you. Also, we've beaten all the old gripes to death. Rccl is upping the food budget, maybe someone will gripe about that. I think adding hot dog weiners to the kraft dinner mix is a great idea!
Jen, the gripers anonymous cruise would work, but we wouldn't be anonymous for too long.
David, you covered everything but missed "the ugliest posters" here on gripes. That would be where I come in.....
banker - are you suggesting some of us might be loud and obnoxious - let the games begin!!!! We could start with a treasure hunt - the one that finds the most things to gripe about on board ship would win a prize - say an all expense paid trip to Siberia in the winter (or is it always winter in Siberia?) Or we could make the chair savers walk the plank into the shark-filled aft pool and make the ones that butt in the buffet lines eat the food left on everyone else's plates. The possibilities are endless. I volunteer to be cruise director. - TTFN Jennifer
Actually Jen in the case of JoeSCAN (a perfect example of one of the invisible non registered posters) ,,,,,,,it would be more of a DUUUUUHH for Joe. A sad person really to even think or comment this way
The general rule is to reply less when given an opinion that is less than popular with those available who comment on boards . You may also find your supporters are fewer than expected regarding the reply or comments and appear to be less of a reaction or support than you initially expected
Hows that Joe?
Joe has got to be such a fun person I wish he was on my next cruise. I nearly split my sides laughing at his post and humour..........
this is the first time in a couple of months that i've been on the boards or posted. after posting a question in august that i hoped might evoke one or two answers at best, my thread evolved into an international shouting match.
