Droopy yes I get it while I am still in the bathroom as I am walking out. My hands don't touch the door w/o using the sanitizer first =)

Banker and Paul - I think you guys just may have the whole ship to yourselves - so nothing to worry about - unless of course you kind of like - you know - dig each other tee-hee. That would be a whole other kettle of worms and maybe even a different board. Wonder what Mrs. Banker would have to say about that lol.

I don't really worry about germs - those little buggers will get you if they really want to anyway - kind of like death and taxes - you can only put off the inevitable for so long.

Add to the equation that there are a lot of elder folks with compromised immune systems on cruises, and it doesn't take someone from the CDC to figure out what's going on.

Every ship I've ever been on has been as clean as any other public space I've been in -- from churches to hotels.

Old folks don't wash their hands! Last year on the Millennium, it was absolutely amazing to see how many old dudes used the toilet (standing AND sitting) in the public restrooms only to exit back to the dining room, casino or showroom without so much as a cold-water rinse. Maybe just a disgusting generational habit. But after witnessing this, I no longer hold the cruise lines to blame for outbreaks of "flu-like symptoms". The unclean outnumbered us hand washers by 4 to 1.

Scrub up, you old folks. And stop cutting in line by pretending to be suffering from dementhia.
why are you hanging around toilets watching people?

for all those who are under the assumption that using just a sanitizer is a substitution for hand washing is totally incorrect.for the reply that getting her cna license you are correct, nut that only pertains to cna work.
anyone handling food that is incorrect, sanitizer can only be used after washing hands.I am a food service director and have been in food service for over 25 years and in most states just using sanitizer and not washing your hands will get you a nice citation from the department of health.
I train my staff with the glow soap and the black light, washing and using the sanitizer will not give you any better result then proper handwashing in the first place.so my advice is wash hands properly and if you feel more comfortable then follow up with the sanitizer.
