What will insurance cover

Would trip insurance cover the $500 that I used off of a cruise credit card towards my cruise and also the freguent flyer miles that I am using to fly? When I go to get prices I do not know if I include any dollar amount for these items.

I always include everything. If it would be a loss, include it. The amount you pay for insurance is for the cost of the trip you put down. If you only want $1000 of your trip covered then it would be X $ or if you want $5000 of your trip covered it would be XX $. Did I confuse you more? Have you tried getting quotes on insuremytrip.com? Do you mean line or TA deposit towards your line contract or vacation cancelled or do you mean going out and buying $500 of new clothes to sail in..It's different.

Re Frequent miles, if something is cancelled and through insurance you get your money back, would you really expect to get the miles for a trip you never took and got refunded for?

If they refund your airfare is that not enough

Like I said I used 500 points towards my cruise. Which means I used $500 that I earned from a cruise credit card toward a $1500 cruise and I paid the $1000 difference. The cruise was worth the $1500 and if my cruise is cancelled do to a storm or something would I get the $1000 back or the $1500.

Also I would not expect airline miles and airfare refund. That is not what I said. How stupid do I look! I just meant I would not know how much insurance to get because I used miles and did not pay for my airfare. I just did not know if I was entitled to estimate my airfare and also be reimbursed for the $500 because I did not put out the cash. I do not think that was a stupid question.

Excuse me gb5287, but you never said on your post that you would use 500 points not dollars towards it, until now. So that is a new ball game, insurance would refund cash, points company would re credit due to you never actually took the vacation.

There you go an easy answer, now that I fully understand the question.

sblahars how can you say that? I am deeply hurt ! Not....... and if you cant take counter posts against your opinion,,,wake up and smell reality that others may think different to what is in your head. I live that all the time,,its called reality.

Point me towards one of yours that gave practical advice to others and not just personal opinion or even one little thread that was not anti whatever posted !
