Default has anyone ever booked inside U/L guarantee?

I saw 7nt cruise advertised at a good price only to find out it's an inside upper/lower guarantee, which means your cabin is unknown til checkin.
It's an inside cabin with bunkbeds. On the otherhand, I was told by the TA that I would more than likely get an upgrade to a cabin with both beds on the floor. I will cross my fingers and hope for an upgraded cabin in a great location. The advertisement was very misleading but I gave in. I pray we have a beautiful cruise.

I have always booked a 1A Gty on Carnival and have yet to see the inside of one. Usually upgraded to a 4A or 4B, only once to a 4D, but just remember, you should never, ever book anything you wouldn't be willing to accept.

san007:

I'm still curious what line you have booked, as I don't know of any lines with bunk beds in any of the rooms now. The last ship I saw with these was the NCL Norway. As we all know, this ship is long gone.

So again, what ship and line are you on?

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard,

It's very hard to find the 1A cabins! There are very few and they don't show on the deck plans in the brochure or online. You have to ask your TA where they are !

I would guess that 99.9% of the time there will be an upgrade from an 1A!

Fern,
The 1As are shown in the Carnival brochures and on their website, in fact, every deck layout I have seen have them on it. They are pale yellow in color.

Thanks Jodi!

I see them now, but the lowest cabin listed to the right of the deck plans (online) is a 4A. If you didn't know the color to look for you couldn't find them !

There are bunkbed cabins on Carnival. But, they can bring in a spare bed and make the bottom bunk into a queen. Cabin is a lot larger than you might think. Friends who had never been on a cruise booked that. I was afraid it might put them off cruising, but they loved it. We saw their cabin and it was definitely okay. Not a suite, but at a fraction of the price. I would book one if it meant going again before I thought I could afford to.
