and don't forget -- if the ship is actually going down to bring lots of lysol and complain about being packed in with smelly people in smelly life jackets. that should make it all better. ridiculous complaints. just like the idiots that make a game out of muster drill. if it really happened, would they be able to get to their stations, put on the life jackets, get to the boats? probably not, they would panic and sue the cruise line for not instructing them properly. listen, folks, just do it.

The odor your smelling is probably not sweat. The things are worn ten minutes a week. How much body odor can inundate it in that kind of time. It's not like the people using it for the drill are wearing it naked after a long workout. They do stink a tad but the odor is probably mildew or some such.

Amen! You just know the people fooling around during drill, will knock you over if there ever is a real emergency.

We have not noticed but we wipe them down with the wet wipes first. But if I ever needed them the smell would not stop me because I do not smin either.

please people do not put that whistle in your mouth unless you are like rose in the titanic and it is the last choice! if you think the vests smell...imagine what is on that whistle! i work as a medical assistant so ..i think about the germs too often. eww...shuttering to think that in may i have to wear that thing again...

Thats a good point, is cleansing your whistle part of your cabin stewards job title or is that just on specialist cruises

I hope you are talking about rubbing alcohol, because as hard as it is to get alcohol on board some people won't use it for that.
