Carnival does good with lunch and dinner (I love dinner in the dining room). But Breakfast they seem to have the same food items everyday.
I like my bacon crispy, if it's not crispy there is no point. Also bagels or other toast would be good. Maybe do theme day for breakfast the way they do for lunch. I do like the omlete station, but 14 days of eating omletes is a bit much.
I went to the dining room for breakfast on my last cruise on the Elation. I asked for a Hard Poached egg you would have thought I asked for the Holy Grail. It came out and the yellow was runny. I wasn't going to say anything (because it never ends well) my hubby asked them to cook it longer. I think they popped it into the oven cause when it came back it had a skin on the top (yeah the improved the taste).

Kat,
You can get bagels or toast on Carnival buffet breakfast. Just ask for it. I don't like the pre-made eggs at all, but love their oatmeal. However, I do think that NCL does a much better job with their breakfast buffet. I rarely bother anymore with breakfast in the dining room. Food doesn't seem any better to me and I want/need tons of coffee...just leave the pot.
Marty
Really crisp bacon is very hard to find on any cruise ship I have been on. I always move the bacon around trying to find a few crisp nibbles on the bottom of the container.
I rarely eat eggs anywhere, but do love eggs benedict which can usually only be found in the dining room for breakfast. Save your runny poached egg for me.
I love my eggs with a really runny yolk, and bacon not so crisp it all falls apart. Yes, the buffet does tend to have bacon that is cripier. I like to make it down to the dining room for waffles or pancakes instead of eggs and bacon all the time!!!!

I thought their breakfast buffet was a bit limited. I was used to the one on Royal Caribbean, just more varieties every morning. Not that I couldn't find anything to eat, but just less of a choice, but all good.
I can always found something to eat. This is never a problem for me on any cruises. One of my favorite is the rudy red grapefruit all nice and sectioned for me. A lot of times they don't that the red rudys just regular grapefruit not as good. What can I say I live in California I like good produce. I don't eat regular oranges because the satsuma are the best easy to peel and sweet.
Misguideangel you and Paul B can fight over my running eggs cause I won't eat em. I think it's a texture thing. Paul B is on my cruise that leaves in 9 days!!!!!! So I guess he gets my eggs this time.

The bacon is baked/broiled and therefore not as crispy as what you fry at home. The eggs have to be undercooked or have liquid added in order to "hold up" on the hot line.
I usually have morning coffee in the cabin, and then go to the lido for either omelettes or waffles.
As for variety, let's face it, it is better than the fridge at the house.
Agreed Rev, "Really crisp bacon is very hard to find on any cruise ship I have been on"
Your right its because they start it cooking at 4am in an oven or whatever at a low temp as all ships or hotels do for serving from &am, the only crisp you get is from the 'lights trying to keep it warm and at the same drying it up
Just ask the buffet staff to stick on a plate under the heat lamps for another couple of hours and it will be crispy 8)
As do I, for me its just a touch of mushroom filling, what’s yours
I am guessing, you’re a tradionalist and egg only bud…am I correct. It’s the moustache and Magnum PI look a like bit that just makes me think that way , dont mess with my omlette
My favorite food on a Carnival Cruise is the made to order omelets. They are wonderfull. I just can't wait to get up in the morning. I am sure my waist line has a few gripes about it though!
Don’t do it, forget your figure, the important thing is eating so many eggs every day and your cholesterol will go through the roof: shock:. Can I introduce you to a cereal breakfast at least every other day?
Or are you just eating omelettes because Johnny Rockets for burgers is not yet open?
Never lost sleep, or have woken up in the morning with the excitement or intention of having an omelette to make my day, that’s scary.
And why are you talking to us in big red writing, are you doing internet shouting?

Respect
David, I enjoy the tomatos and bell peppers in mine. No mushrooms.
The look is not Magnum PI, it is the Michael Hawkins look. So many have accused me of looking like him, or Burt Reynolds, or Tommy Lee Jones. I look like me and they resemble me.

Out of 9 cruises the wife and I have never eaten breakfast in the dinning room. We have promised ourselves that we will do it at least once on our next cruise. Which just happens to be in 99 days. I do love the made to order omlets and all of that greasy bacon. You know it just does a heart good.
I always like to have eggs benedict at least once while on a cruise, only place to get it is in the dining room.
I usually shoot for 1st morning in dining room, with eggs benedict. Done so on all but one of my Carnival cruises.
Now for all you omelette fans, and I am one as well, here's your 'tip of the day'. Although it is not on the breakfast menu you CAN order a fresh custom omelette in the dining room. Maybe not quite as fresh as the omelette station, but almost, and you didn't have to stand in line for it.

I find that yes the bacon sucks, its like eating a wet sock. The scrambled eggs are ok at best but I do like the potatoes and french toast. I like omlettes but hate the wait... waaaa!! Best thing is to get some fruit and eat some cereal. Healthier and pretty much assured of a good thing. I did notice for some reason the coffee was bad last week on the Glory. Maybe it was me but I didnt like it. Stay away from what Carnival calls citrus segments. Basically its old fruit that has to be cut up because nobody will eat it the way it looks whole...its all about trying to avoid waste.. something passengers are not really good at..
Just came back from my cruise and I have to report the bacon was crispy. My other favorite was they had the Rudy Red Grapefruits all through the cruise. However, today I had to get up and make my own breakfast.
