I don't know about the links. Does CM use google ads. They sometimes will pickup on a phrase in a posting and tuck in some ad that has nothing to do with anything.

Maybe it's some cookie on your computer doing it. I have a problem with my Yahoo e-mail some thing has gotten on there and it e-mails everyone in my address book, spam and it looks like I sent it.

If you're logged in to the site, you don't see any of those links.

If you're not, and just surfing, you'll see them.

It's being run as an experiment, but there's really no need for you to log off of the site if you visit often, so it shouldn't be a problem avoiding them.

Sorry Kuki , I was logged in. How else could I have been constructing a reply to a thread that suddenly started embedding hyperlinks into it?

Can you post here without being logged in, get that box that allows you to type? I was writing, not reading

Thanks, now I can spend more money on ship photos, and one of those ship tattos!
I can also pay for an upgraded steak, and one of thse foo foo drinks the ladies always speak about.

And of course, I will say a few prayers for the church while i'm gone.

Actually guys on a different and serious note, the rev could use your thoughts and prayers. It looks like I may have to have some brain surgery done to remove a cyst in the brain. I will know for sure in the morning when I meet with the doctor.

Peace -

Well crap rev, I was having such a good day up until now. But that announcement has just taken the wind out my sails bud.

This will work out, as always my deepest respect and my prayers go to you my friend.

You keep in touch

Thanks for the prayers. As it turned out today, the cyst would ordinarily need to come out, but the ventricles are not large enough for the surgical instruments to fit into safely.
Without great detail this means no surgery right now and who knows, I may not have any problems. If it does become more symptomatic, then we go on with the removal.

Doc, said there could be a risk of brain damage if we do it now, wife said, how would we know.

SO glad to hear the good news. And your wife sounds like my hubby. WHile sincere sympathy can be good, I prefer a good chuckle.
Thankfully,

Jeff:

My best to you. I advise that brain surgery should always be done only when absolutely necessary. I have a couple of neurosurgeons who want to cut my brain and try a new surgery. They look on me more as Guinea Pig and not a person.

Take care,
Mike

I certainly hope for the best for you, Jeff.

As far as the ads go - please just log into CM, and do not log out. I never log out and the site will keep you logged in unless you do something to log out. When you are logged in you do not see them.

It is possible that you see them when previewing a new message, I am not sure.

My best to you Jeff. Always maintain your sense of humor!

As to the ads, thanks for the info, but I never sign out, but when I visit each day I have to sign back in each time, & if I'm just reading posts I don't. Don't know why it asks me to sign in, it's probably something about my cookies, which I don't understand. It doesn't happen to all sites. I use IE & Mozilla, & it happens with both.

You must have regiatered at a time when it wasn't writing cookies correctly - there were a few days when that happened when we first transitioned to these boards. I would suggest trying something like changing your password, submitting, (and then change it back and resubmit if you want). That should re-write the cookie. I don't think anyone else is having that problem here, I know I don't.

Gosh Jeff. Prayers help and I will be sending them your way and asking others to do the same. I have seen and experienced miracles of prayer. Here they come.
