Default Help please CM folks

No secret that I smoke, but I am looking for the CM expertise to recommend a ship or line that will at least allow me to smoke on my balcony, dont care or want to in the room, as thats socially unacccetable.

So who can I now cruise with in 2009 that will allow me on ship smoking areas, and not have to run up to a open deck in my PJ's to have my morning smoke, ie I can still do it on my balcony.

Not being glib here, I really need that advice before I go booking something as a smoker that I may regret later.

Thanks in advance for the advice, katlady you know this sort of stuff

Not sure under what flag she now sails or the current state of the accomodations but we could suggest... The Flying Dutchman

Returned from Carnival last week and they allow smoking in cabins and on balconies.

Last spring, Princess allowed the same. Overall, I find that Carnival has the most liberal smoking policies of all the lines I've cruised. There are still several bars and lounges that allow smoking.

Default smoking

Royal Caribbean restricts you to your balcony.

They have a spectacular cigar bar on Voyager!

and still have bars and areas with smoking.

Not totally banned ......yet!

Take a look at: http://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=225. It is a compilation of the smoking policies on many cruise lines. It was posted yesterday. Hope this helps.

Davy Darling: You last reply reminded me of an old Katharine Hepburn quote: "I don't go out much, and when I do, I found I haven't missed much".

Princess does allow smoking on your balcony. There are also certain areas on the ship that allow it, just look for the tables with ashtrays.

Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean (balcony only) and Costa allow smoking in the room and on the balcony.

Celebrity, Oceania and Azamara have the most restrictive smoking policies.

You can basically say that all "Carnival Cruise lines" allow smoking in the room and on the balcony.

Take care,
Mike

Well shoot I'm a little late. Sorry DayvidB I was on a land based vacation through Utah, Arizonia, and Nevada. We didn't have internet service. I'm back now, I went on Princess in 2003 it was very nice.

I have never cruised Costa, however, I think they might have a better selections of cruises in Europe. What time of year do you want to cruise?

Oh I like this cruise it's in May 09 it starts in Italy and ends in England, the price is in Pound Sterling. http://www.costacruises.co.uk/B2C/GB...Cru=MD08090504
Or this 10 day leaves and returns to Italy. It goes to Funchal, Maderia Island you can visit my relatives. My dad is from that island.

Hey at least I got the time of year right. Before summer vacation for the kids. Where is the HMS IronLung going to? Portugal is wonderful that time of year. Plus, Portuguese people love to debate, you would fit in perfect.
