Default Bar closing times on RCCL

Went on a cruise on Mariner OTS in October and discovered the casino and all bars, except the nightclub closed at 1 a.m. most nights. Being a night person and usually staying out till 3 a.m. on weekends I found this to be very unusual. Your on vacation with no set time to wake up you would think they would keep the bars open till 3 a.m. like on land. Even the nightclub which was suppose to be open till the wee hours would start cleaning up and make last call around 1:45 and force you out by 2:00. I had one singer in the pub that I really liked, but with late seating some nights we would not get out of whatever show we went to till 12:00 or so and would only get to see about 30 minutes of his act because he would rap things up around 12:50. Is this true of all RCCL ships or was that just on this particular ship. The only night anything, other than the nightclub stayed open late was on the final night when the casino stayed open till 2:30. I have sailed on Princess and Carnival in the past and the casino and several bars would stay open till at least 2:30. I remember on Grand Princess in 1999 me and my table mates in the casino would close it down and then go up to the nightclub which stayed open till 5:00 or so then go to the buffet and have breakfast before going to bed. For this reason and the fact I like Princess ship small ship feel layout better I will not schedule another cruise on RCCL, unless they change this policy. I still enjoyed the cruise, but felt Princess did a better job of providing entertainment for morning and night people where RCCL seemed to only cater to early to bed early to rise people.

Wow I'm a night person also. Well, actually I'm an insomniac so I stay out late. My last RCCL cruise was in 1994 since then I have cruise Celebrity, Carnival, and Princess. We won't do Celebrity again because of the overall lack of things to do. Carnival and Princess we had no problems there is always something to do. In fact my last cruise was a transaltantic cruise and they had deck parties and under the stars performances I loved it. That cruise was on the Carnival Freedom. I thought of booking my next cruise with RCCL, but if things end at 1AM this might not be the right cruiseline for me. Carnival does the adult comedy shows at Midnight which I love.

The last 2 enjoyable cruises we took were on the Mariner and Voyager both with RCCL. Both cruises were in the carribean ( east & southern ).
All bars as well as the casino were open well past my bedtime2-3am. As I referenced ( enjoyable) these ships are the best. Our second cruise on the Voyager was a real surprise as the deck plans are identical to the Mariner which made getting around easy from the 1st day.
My advise is spend the extra $$$ and try RCCL. Our last cruise was with CCL and believe me it was our LAST cruise with this Wally World of the cruise industry.

IS THIS TRUE? I'M BOOKED ON MARINER OF THE SEAS, NOV. 22, 2009. I'M BRINGING MY TWO ADULT SONS AND THEIR GIRLIE FRIENDS. IT WILL BE THEIR FIRST CRUISE EVER! BELIEVE ME THEY'RE ALL ABOUT HAVING A GOOD TIME. DAY, OR NIGHT. ANY INFO ON THIS CONSERVATIVE MATTER? THANXS-
