On every cruise, there are a few obnoxious drunks, some bratty kids, some rude people, but there is another group that gets to me. And that is the type who feel a compulsive need to convince complete strangers that they are upper crust. While I find them boring, I also feel sorry for them that their egos are so pathetic that they have to make themselves feel better by insisting upon their elitist status. No matter how much money they have, these people have bankrupt personalities. So sad.

I vote for the unsupervised children running helter skelter all over the ship. We had a large group staying in staterooms in our area on a cruise on Carnival Triumph who ran up and down the halls all hours of the day and night screaming and banging on doors, removing our room service card (caught them red handed) and throwing it on the floor (couldn't figure out why we weren't getting our coffee in the morning), sitting at the Atrium bar ordering soft drinks, making a mess at the ice cream stations, and ran out of an elevator as soon as the doors opened and right into an elderly woman with a walker, knocking her on her butt..they never even stopped, just kept on running. How did we know if was the same group of unruly children all over the ship, they all wore very identifiable T shirts with their church group printed on it.
OK--after a "board meeting" it was unanimous--it's the unsupervised kids. Those that are allowed, even with parents present, to run throughout the ship. On our last Carnival cruise they threw ice cream over the rails into the atrium from 10 stories up and we learned there was not much you could do about it. Security advised it happens every cruise.
Drunks as an adult I can deal with, me and them as adults. I can try to talk to them, I can try to calm the scenario, I can react verbally, and if they go over board in how they present themselves, then I can stick one on their chin,,,happy, sorted. They are adults
Cheeky Bstard children, I walk away and blood pressure rising. They have been taught to be so open and are now mini-people in some peoples eyes That one, gets me
one,, I cant discuss it with them, my thought process,. They are children, not mine, and I would never try to justify my adult opinion or thought process to a child
and two
I cant give them a good kick up the arse when they go past the point of acceptance for most adults. Kick up the *** being even talking and saying NO
Thats most adults problem when dealing either at home or on a ship with other peoples kids.
Change the laws that take social responsibility and PC reactions away and let me kick one of these little S*its up the A*rse. Plus drag their parents across and give them the book that has never been published regarding how to bring up children.
Seen a lot of sad things in my life, but the saddest has got to be adults pressurised into a scenario that they cannot chastise a child and the child takes the upper hand due to threatened "legal" action..mmm
When will someone come up with such a plan or law that protects us, the adult from these little sh*ts
vent over
Love it. You'd make a good addition to our group who have threatened to super glue a bunch of tweeners to the deck on one cruise. The little runts were jumping in the pool from the hot tubs, bringing drinks into the hot tubs and leaving the glasses under the water, runing from the childrens side of the pool and jumping over the dividing fence into the deep end. The breaking point was when they were on the upper level hitting golf balls and one took a big swing and drove the ball into my friends ankle. We told the Purser either he does something about them or we would. The next time we saw the gang they were all sequestered in a lounge area with security wacthing them. Happy Days!!
The frustrating part was that some of their parents were siting at the pool watching them jump out of the hot tubs!! Morons!

Pleased you did love it, but I am not in anyones gang or group We are different I react and deal with it at the time. I dont get comfort from what I should have said or done including dreaming about super gluing a child to anything.
Move the frustration away from the child and take it out on the parents, they deserve it, the children know no better

Without question - I would rather have to deal with a drunk - they pass out and hopefully they are escorted to their cabin. Thankfully I have never encountered either on any of our cruises. Just lucky I guess.
Drunk guy all the way. I have never had a situation with a kid I was not able to handle or deal with, but I have had issues with drunken idiots.
