Default Windjammer not family-friendly

In response to several threads regarding WJ and kids, I thought I'd post our warning about taking kids on WJ cruises.

About six years ago we made the mistake of taking our younger son on a "family-friendly" Windjammer cruise. My son was assaulted and nearly drown by drunken, out-of-control passenger. The passenger was ejected from the cruise, but our vacation was completely destroyed by the incident. Furthermore, Windjammer did NOTHING to compensate us in any way for this dreadful experience, which included spending a day in the Tortola police station filing a report. Don't take your kids -- or better yet, find a different cruise line even if you're not taking kids.

The actions of one passenger is the cruise line's fault?

Why on earth do you feel you should be compensated? Sue the person that assaulted your child. The cruise line isn't liable unless there's some evidence of gross negligence on their part.

On the other hand, they have no money anyway.
