How Can LaMer Owners Band Together to Protect Our Investment
Paul: Thank you so much for the informative series on Windjammer. We too are LaMer owners with $15000 invested. Has an attorney been contacted on behalf of LaMer owners? If not why not and how can that be initiated? Is there a way to get all 600+ owners together?
We last sailed the Poly and Legacy last year over the Christmas holidays. About 60% of the Poly passengers were sick with what had to be Noro-virus - conditions were terrible and nothing was done to sanitize the ship or deal with the situation. Upon returning my husband ended up in the hospital with a potentially life-threatening intenstinal infection that resulted from the Poly sickness. He's mostly recovered but 11 months later he is still living with some of the effects. We contacted a Florida PI attorney who acted on our behalf to file a claim with Windjammer. Needless to say he got no response. So after 5 wonderful experiences in the past with Windjammer we not only have $15000 of LaMer investment at stake but $3000 of medical costs not covered by insurance thanks to Windjammer.
We understand the gamble of the class action suit but how can we organize to at least gather all the owners together? Is it contacting the state of Florida Better Business Bureau or some oversight body on time share sales in Florida? We've heard all the problems for months so how much longer before there's a way for us to exercise our rights?
