My husband and I purchased a timeshare on the La Mer with some friends of ours. We each used one cruise in January 2006. We have been unable to plan our next vacation due to some family issues until recently. We started planning our next cruise and quickly found that Windjammer is no longer running. We never received any notification from the company or offered any compensation. We purchased the timeshare on a credit card. I noticed that someone said you could get a refund on your credit card. How do you do this? We cannot afford to loose this money. The company my husband worked for for 21 years shut down and we really need to get back on our feet. Any help in getting a refund would be greatly appreciated.
Not all credit card companies have the same guidelines. Some people have been sucessful getting a refund while others have not. It will be an uphill battle but contact customer service at your particular card company and see where it leads. Don't give up. It has been pretty well established that Windjammer defrauded customers so they may be willing to give you some help. Others may be able to provide better insight. 8)
