I am just learning of this debacle... Have been waiting for news that LaMer was seaworthy, we're screwed out if the whole sail 5 package. I feel stupid, robbed and disappionted
I see there's a pathway via the Homeland Security - can someone help me with htis connection?
My husband and I bought Sail 5 packages, for $2500 each. We were able to use 2 weeks of our package before Windjammer folded. We lost $1500 each, for a total of $3000. I miss The sailing more than I miss the money.
My sister and I, long time Windjammers, bought our second "Sail 5" just before Windjammer went out of business. Therefore we were unable to use any of it. We each lost $2,500.
We made good use of our first Sail 5 programs and were surely supprised and disapointed that Windjammer went out of business. Over the years, I had met Captain Burke and several of his children, including Michael and Polly, while on board various Windjammer Cruises. Daniel Burke was onboard the second to the last cruise I took.
My husband and I purchased 10 cruises as part of the LaMer SeaCabins program for $10,200 charged on our credit card. We took 3 cruises on other Windjammer Barefoot ships, but have lost the remaining $7,140 of our retirement money. Please advise us about getting money back. Thanks so much!
