Default Windstar Alumni Pricing

My wife and I were planning on booking a cruise for late 2004. The Windstar brochure states that alumni would receive an EXCLUSIVE $500 per person discount. What Windstar fails to tell the alumni is that all OTHER passengers receive a $400 per person discount. This makes the alumni discount really $100 per person.

When asked about the discount I received the following response:

"Windstar Cruises created two specific promotions, one offered to out Foremast Club members in the amount of $500.00 per person reduction to book a new cruise. Then one offered to potential future guests in the amount of $400.00 per person reduction to book a new cruise. You are correct, with this promothion, our Foremast Club members receive an added $100.00 value per person than a Non-Foremast Club member. ....."

I believe that their promise of a $500 per person EXCLUSIVE discount is very misleading based on the $400 discount given to anyone. Unfortunately the Windstar web page does not differentiate between the early booking discount and the "new passenger" discount so no one can see that there are two DIFFERENT promotions going on. One for the early booking and one for the "new passenger" or "alumni" discount.

With misleading discounts / promises like this and cancelling cruises (because of a group booking) I can understand why Windstar is having problems.

Geeez--whine, whine, whine.

We book alumni all the time and on our Baltic Cruise in September, had our rate reduced twice between early booking and departure, due to market.

If you book because of an "exclusive" discount, you're kind of missing the point.

Consider yourself lucky to even get a Foremast newsletter.
We have now done two Windstar Cruises and get nothing at all.
I can't even find their e-mail address to contact them.
Can you help me ?
