Rosyth Cruise Port is the newest port in Edinburgh, Scotland. It has a home on the Firth of Forth and is approximately 30 to 45 minutes by shuttle bus or public transit from the downtown section of Edinburgh. Although this particular port is in use primarily for transporting cargo, there is a daily a 17-1/2 hour daily ferry for passenger cars that runs between Rosyth and Zeebrugge. The area around the pier is not always, what you would call a pretty sight, but it does accomplish its purpose. Its only passenger facilities are a steel building and professional and friendly port employees. In order to reach Rosyth Cruise Port you must go to the Forth Estuary that is on the eastern coast of Scotland. It is located upstream from the Forth road and the railway bridges.

For those leaving the ship at the Rosyth port of call there are many attractions within an hour's drive of the city. Some of the attractions you might want to include on your itinerary include Stirling Castle, Gleneagles and Linlithgow Palace, Perthshire and the Trossachs, both rather scenic areas. Dumferminline is the ancient capital city of Scotland and is Robert Carnegie's birthplace as well as the burial ground for King Robert the Bruce and St Andrews. It is also the home of the game of golf and includes several distilleries that are within a short traveling distance.

Rosyth Cruise Port is within close proximity to the heartlands of Scotland, which makes it a perfect destination for cruise ships and their passengers to embark. In addition, the Rosyth Cruise Terminal provides easy access for marine transportation of all varieties.

On the south side of Fife sits a town and dockyard complex. It is situated west of Inverkeithing and because of the deep tidal waters that evolve off St Margaret's Hope, the Admiralty made a decision in 1903 to build a dockyard and Naval base on the premises. The town of Rosyth was originally planned to be a "garden city" for housing those working on the construction and maintenance of both the dockyard and Naval base. The first vessel to undergo repair was HMS Zealandia in March 1916.

Some of the notable modern buildings in the town include the domestic housing located on Queensbury Road, the former Anglican Church of St Margaret and St. John's Primary School. Today Rosyth is an important ferry port that links Scotland to the rest of Europe and has a leisure center, library, four primary schools and other industries such as manufacturing of drilling equipment and weighing equipment located in the industrial estates of Primrose and Belleknowes. These historical remnants of life in Roslyn are something you must see in order to grasp the true history of Rosyth. Savor its history while you are in the city and visit its many landmarks and other pieces of history.
