Cruises to the Abu Dhabi port usually stop at the Mina Zayed port, which is about three miles from the city's center. From there, visitors take public transportation from the Abu Dhabi cruise terminal to the rest of the city, where food, shopping, and activities await. Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates is a beautiful, expensive city that has something for everyone. Visitors can explore the desert, shop or just chill on the beach.  The culture and the history of the Abu Dhabi port of call provide a unique combination which captures visitor's imaginations. Abu Dhabi has plenty to keep guests occupied. Visitors enjoy indoor and outdoor activities, such as enjoying the unique cityscape. They can also visit historical locations, such as the watchtowers, which were built to warn inhabitants of approaching bandits and Heritage Village provides familiarity with the culture.

A camel trek in the desert is a unique to truly enjoy Abu Dhabi and get a feel for the desert sun and sky.  You can also check out the dunes or take a safari tour.

One of the most popular places to relax, the Corniche in Abu Dhabi port is pretty and offers beautiful views of the city. The public swimming area allows people to enjoy time on the beach. They can even go  scuba diving.

Shopping

Abu Dhabi is is one of the most expensive cities in the world.  The city has multiple shopping centers, the nearest to the Abu Dhabi port is the Abu Dhabi mall. The three-story Abu Dhabi Mall has over 220 stores, 40 food outlets, a bowling alley and a movie theater.

The Marina Mall is located in Marina Village, near the Emirates Palace. This unique mall features a musical fountain and ceilings that rain and thunder.

There are also dozens of independently-owned shops and large markets, called souks, where visitors can barter for popular souvenirs which include:

Bars and Restaurants

Abu Dhabi port of call has a vibrant nightlife. For individuals not interested in the nightlife, but who still want a drink or a meal at a bar or a restaurant, there are plenty of those, too. Visitors can partake of all kinds of eating establishments, including European style food, pizzerias, sandwich shops, and standard Middle Eastern cuisines. People visiting during the month of Ramadan will find that restaurants are closed during the day.

  • Escape: This comfortable outdoor bar provides a great escape for people to sit and relax and enjoy the city. It's located on Corniche Road, across from the Hilton.
