The Birka Paradise, part of Birka Cruises, was launched in 2004 and sails the Baltic Sea. Featuring environmentally friendly innovations, the Birka Paradise ship has 11 decks with capacity for 1,800 passengers. The Paradise promises summer all year round, and delivers on that promise even in winter. The Sun Deck features a retractable glass roof that can open in summer and close in winter. Fake palm trees abound, and even an artificial sun gives passengers that warm glow. The ship is built to resemble a beach, so that cruisers always feel toasty and exotic.
