The Costa Mediterranea cruise ship is the sister ship of the Costa Atlantica and departed on her maiden voyage in 2003. Her twelve decks are named after characters from both history and mythology and her capacity is over 2,000.

Cuisine
The two-level Argentieri Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are required for dinner.
Club Medusa is an upscale alternative restaurant that serves dinner only, requires reservations and has a $23 cover charge.
The Perla Del Lago Buffet serves a wide range of cuisines, breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a great view due to its large, surrounding windows.
Posillipo Pizzeria serves a variety of fresh pizza pies and is open at various times throughout the day.
Entertainment and Nightlife
The night time is the right time for one of the Mediterranea’s many bars, discos and lounges. There is also the Grand Canal Casino with roulette, blackjack, slot machines and a card room. On some nights there are deck parties and pool parties.
The Osiris Theater has nightly entertainment like dance shows, comedians and live music.
Cabins
Inside staterooms are about 130 square feet and come with such amenities as two beds, TV, air-conditioning, private bathroom, 24-hour room service, safe deposit box, telephone and hair dryer.
Oceanview staterooms are a significantly more spacious 150 square feet and the two beds are convertible to one queen size.
Suites are enormous by comparison at about 410 square feet and have extra amenities like a sitting area, personal butler service, sofa bed, bathrobe and slippers to use on the cruise, double sinks, choice of pillow from Costa Cruises pillow menu, kit of bath products, daily delivery of the lunch and dinner menus and a whirlpool tub.
Recreation
For shoppers there is perfume, souvenirs, art, clothing and sundry shops to peruse. If you are looking for an organized activity, go to one of the ships various public rooms for games, contests, lectures and enrichment classes.
For the health and wellness-conscious there is the Ischia Spa with treatments, a salon and more. The Olympia gym is an enormous and beautiful space with machines, free weights, personal trainers and exercise classes available.
Taking the Kids
Kids will enjoy the Virtual World Game Room with video games and other fun challenges.
Both children and teens will enjoy the Costa Kids Club which has programs, activities and babysitting. Kids and teens are separated into four age-appropriate groups (3-6 is known as “Mini", 7-11 is “Maxi”, 12-14 is “Teen Junior” and 15-17 is simply “Teen”). There are many activities for them like games, tournaments, scavenger and treasure hunts, t-shirt painting and more.
Onboard Fees
Some examples of onboard fees are as follows:
- Treatments at the spa and salon cost an additional fee which ranges in price depending on if the ship is docked or it is a day at sea.
- Additional fees apply to some exercise classes.
- Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks incur an additional cost at the ships restaurants, bars and for room service.
- The Club Medusa charges a cover fee of $23 per person.
