Ventura is named after the Oscar-winning British actress Dame Helen Merrin, who was nicknamed Ventura. This P&O cruise has 19 decks, 14 are for passengers. The Ventura ship is built with an onboard capacity of 3,100 passengers.
The ship is known for its efficient service. Restaurants, lounges, pools, theaters, bars, and entertainment and recreational facilities are available on the cruise ship. The walls of Ventura are decorated with artworks and paintings.

Cuisine
Ventura has three main restaurants that provide facilities such as freedom dining, club dining and select dining. The White Room is a fine dining restaurant, while the Beach House is a family restaurant with a 24-hour buffet service. There is an Italian café that offers snacks along with a variety of beverages.
Bay Tree, Saffron and Cinnamon are dining rooms that serve at 6.30 pm as well as at 8.30 pm. The East serves spicy Asian and pacific dishes.
Other informal diners include Frankie’s Pizzeria and the water-side restaurant, which is open from morning till late afternoon. All restaurants on-board Ventura get a regular change of menu. Smoking is not allowed inside any restaurant.
Entertainment and Nightlife
Ventura has more than six bars and clubs that also hold wine tasting sessions. There is a casino for gambling.
Cabins
Half of the cabins on the ship have private balconies. The cabins are equipped with a bathroom, wardrobe area, writing desk, air conditioning and two beds.
Suite rooms have larger bathrooms and king-size beds. There are two-family cabins that have two bedrooms and a sitting area. Cabins for the disabled are also available.
Recreation

- The Arena is a double-deck theater with a seating capacity of 785 which shows 3D films and famous art productions.

- There are five swimming pools on the ship. There are three out-door and two-indoor pools, and separate pools for families.
- Ventura also has a terrace pool with a sun roof.

- There is a shopping hall on the cruise ship. On-board bungee jumping, trampolines, spas, and gymnasiums are the other recreational facilities aboard the ship.
- Sports areas have facilities for playing cricket, football, and basketball.
- A library and an Internet browsing café are present onboard.
Taking the Kids
Ventura has numerous entertainment facilities such as night nursery and toy boxes for 2- to 4-year-old children, Jumping Jacks for 5- to 8-year olds, and the Den for 9- to 12-year olds.
The Decibels, Cirque Ventura (a circus training school), and a rock school are available for the entertainment of teenagers. Separate swimming pools are also available for children.

Initial fees include service charges, port charges and cabin charges. Personal expenses at the bar and the charges for recreational and entertainment facilities must be paid onboard.
