The Norwegian Star offers passengers a wide variety of entertainment, activities, and dining. The cabin decor allows each room to show a little individuality. She went through a major upgrade in 2004.

Cuisine

Aqua and Versailles are the two main dining rooms, each with its own style. Multi-course Continental meals are offered in the dining rooms. Three alternative restaurants offer other choices for a fee. Cagney's serves steak, seafood and lobster. Le Bistro serves French cuisine. Shogun offers a variety of Asian dishes, including sushi and Japanese barbeque.

The Lido buffet serves breakfast and lunch, and becomes La Trattoria, an Italian eatery, at night. La Trattoria doesn't charge a fee. The Blue Lagoon has burgers, fish, and wok stir-fry 24 hours a day.

Sushi is offered on an all-you-can-eat basis for $10. The Java Cafe serves coffee, cookies, pastries and cakes.

Room service offers a simplified menu.

Entertainment and Nightlife

The Stardust Theater hosts live production shows, Broadway musicals, and Vegas revues. An onboard cinema shows movies on a regular basis.

Spinnaker Lounge is an observation lounge that doubles as an entertainment venue. Enjoy views from the floor-to-ceiling windows and see where the ship is on the computerized navigational chart. At night, drinks are served and the floor is open for dancing. The Topside Lounge hosts a live band at night.

Carousel Bar & Nightclub offers music on a nightly basis. The sports bar has plenty of televisions for sports enthusiasts to watch.

The Star Club Casino offers slots and popular table games.

Cabins

Cabins feature such staples as televisions, phones and ample closet space. Several inside rooms overlook the main centrum area. 65 percent of the outside cabins boast private balconies, and all outside rooms have large picture windows. Balconies are crafted of glass and hold a table, chair, and lounger. Suites offer a little more space and areas for privacy. Most cabins connect, making it easier for families to book suitable cabins.

Recreation

The gym offers fitness equipment, televisions, and hot tubs. Mens' and womens' steam and sauna rooms add an extra treat. A jogging and walking track lets runners keep in shape. The sports court has facilities for playing tennis, volleyball, and basketball. Golfers and ping-pong players will find suitable facilities.

The Roman Spa has a full range of popular treatments, such as wraps and hot stone massages.

Daily activities include art auctions, craft lessons, trivia games, and language classes.

Fees

A $10 daily surcharge applies to passengers 13 and older. Charges for kids 3-12 are $5 a day. A 15 percent beverage and spa gratuity applies.

Taking the Kids

Planet Kids Childcare Center offers all the extras that kids love. Parents can even sit in an ampitheater and watch their kids at play. The youngest passengers can enjoy their own pool with water slides, a video game arcade, and a climbing area. The kids' pool even has its own hot tub. Craft and other age-appropriate activities are offered. The teens get their own dance club.
