The Essential Coral Princess Experience

Home > Cruisemates Ships > Princess Cruises > The Essential Coral Princess Experience

A Coral Princess cruise is perfect for the passenger who wants elegance and excellent service. The Coral Princess ship was launched by Princess Cruise Lines in 2003 and accommodates 1,970 passengers. Along with the Island Princess, she's the only ship that was built after 2000 that can travel through the Panama Canal with only inches to spare. One of the best features of Coral Princess is that she followed the concept introduced by Carnival of building the stateroom decks higher up on the ship, allowing for more cabins with balconies. The public rooms are on the lower decks. The cabins are spacious and comfortable. The public rooms are larger than on earlier Princess ships, allowing for more space per passenger.

Enrichment Programs

The Universe Lounge is the setting for ScholarShip@Sea, where a wide variety of classes are taught. Princess ships have their own kilns, so you can learn to paint pottery. You can learn how to create your own website, or take part in a variety of culinary classes and learn to cook exotic, gourmet dishes. The ship's library, Internet cafe and card room are always busy during the day.

Nightlife

Coral Princess has an abundance of nightlife venues, including intimate lounges with live music. Churchill's Cigar Lounge is reminiscent of an English country estate. Crooner's is the delightful martini bar. The Wheelhouse Bar is a nautical-themed bar and features original oil paintings throughout the room. The Princess Theater has musical productions and offers great views from every seat. The Universe Lounge features floor shows in the evening, and the Explorer's Lounge with its unusual African theme is the nightspot for cabaret.

Delicious Cuisine

Coral Princess serves continental cuisine in the 2 main dining rooms, Provence and Bordeaux. Provence features traditional seating and Bordeaux offers Personal Choice Dining anytime between 5:30 and 10 p.m. Fettuccine alfredo, broiled lobster, and beef wellington are among the delicious entrees.

The Bayou Cafe serves spicy shrimp gumbo, chicken and chorizo jambalaya and mud Bug bisque soup among other dishes. A special feature is New Orleans-style dishes with a cocktail for $10 per person. Sabatini's serves a sumptuous Italian-style feast with antipasti prior to the entree. You'll need approximately 3 hours for this multi-course dinner. Coral Princess reviews are excellent for Sabatini's. Horizon Court serves buffet-style dishes for breakfast and lunch. While at dinner, you may choose selections from the main restaurant menu.

Fitness and Spa Options

The famous Steiner's of London operates the Lotus Spa, offers beauty and spa treatments, as well as a variety of seminars. The gym is small, but features up-to-date, state-of-the-art equipment so you can get a great workout. A golf simulator, miniature golf course on the top deck, volleyball and basketball courts are available.

A Wedding at Sea

Engaged couples can experience an unforgettable wedding at sea and be married by the captain in Coral Princess' Wedding Chapel. Princess is the only cruise line that allows couples to be married in international waters by the captain, with the Wedding at Sea program. Family and friends can be aboard to witness the ceremony. Different wedding packages include flowers, music, champagne, wedding cake and a reception. Coral Princess has a live webcam in the chapel for family and friends back home to see the ceremony.
