Last year people were scared off from Med crusing because of the Costa Concordia disaster. I know it for a fact because we booked our Celebrity Solstice cruise in January and we booked oceanview to save money. Two weeks after that happened we moved up into an obstructed balcony-and every 2 weeks or so we continued to upgrade as prices kept dropping-Celebrity's policy will not allow you to get the cheaper price but you can upgrade for the same money-we ended up in a skysuite.

However, I would not count on that happening again. It would take another disaster for prices to go that low. Still, I know prices often go down and get better when a cruise is not selling-I would just not count on it being $699. Think about it -a 12 day cruise for $699? That hardly happens even in the Caribbean.
Equal opportunity cruiser since 1998-4 Carnival, 4 RCI, 3 HAL, 3 Princess, 5 Celebrity, 3 NCL, 1 Disney

I have now achieved-
146 days total
