We always go by the rule "once you book, do not look".
Invariably the lines will push promotions to boost sales, either as the travel date, or financial quarter (when they have to report their figures) gets close.
We now either, wait until the last minute if it is a cruise/voyage we are looking at, but can equally live if we miss it, or the grades/prices are too high, or, if we really want to be on board, make the booking and avoid any eye contact on promotions that come out afterwards.
It's a shame, but the same everywhere, even down to furnishings and food in the house.
