Thank you everyone for the help! Our TA called Carnival to see why we had not been issued the discount. She said we would receive a refund to our credit card within 3 to 5 business days. She even called back the next day to verify our refund. Our refund will be almost $800 and we booked a catagory 8B room.
Rosegrower, maybe we were just charged a larger amount than you originally for the room and that's why our refund was larger. Good luck though and you're right, $100 is better than nothing!
