Karen and all,
I welcome any suggestions for our September 2002 HAL Statendam cruise. Packing, shore excursions, transfers etc. Thanks in advance! I will continue to read the other postings as all are helpful.
I believe I answered some of this. Most of all look over a shore excursion list and narrow down your interests. You are not going at an ideal time, be sure to pack a lightweight lined jacket, rain gear- I like the long Walmart ponchos, knit hat and gloves. I no longer take jeans- they tend to get and stay damp, take up a lot of room and take forever to dry. I greatly prefer leggins and lined wind pants. Expect rain and cool temps- 40-50's unfortunately it will be dusk around 7:30pm by the end of your cruise.
Karen: You are the greatest when it comes to info on Alaska. We have
only made four trips and are planning another in May. This does not
qualify us as experts, but it does give us the opportunity of reading your
messages and comparing them to our experiences. KEEP ON KEEPING
ON. We think that Alaska is one of the greatest places in the world, and
we have some credentials to prove it.
