Default Help with choosing binoculars

I have read over and over about the need to have a good pair of binoculars for an Alaska cruise. I have picked up a pair of Bushnell 10x25mm compact binoculars at the Price Club here in Toronto. Is this a good choice? Which is your preferred pair?

I greatly prefer 10x 50 wide angles, BUT I need them greatly for marine wildlife watching- you need a large field of view. I also take my 16-50 for closer up viewing. Yes I do have neck rings by the end of the trip!!!

Try out several pair and get ones that have smooth and crystal clear focusing.

Hedy;
I would keep the 10x25 Bushell compacts. They are lightweight and easy to carry. I do aggree with Karen that a good pair of 10x50's are the best for wildlife viewing.

On our last Alaska cruise I used the 10x50's while we were whale watching and glacier watching from the ship and carried the lightweight binoculars on shore.

Take Care and be prepared to seeing some wonderful things in Alaska.

Mike

We carry 10 x 25 mini binoculars with us on every cruise. We have used them in Alaska while on tours and they work fine. We do have larger and better binoculars that we take and use while sailing on deck but the mini binoculars are easy to cary and use on land and tours.
