shore tours

Has anyone used portpromotions.com or shoreexcursions.com to book any of their Alaska shore tours? I would like to know your experiences, good or bad. Thanks

I was just going to book online thru the cruise line site (Celebrity)

I have already booked one excursion on-line at the Celebrity site, sure like that feature :-)

JJ, have not used them yet, but have heard a lot of good things about them, especially if you are in a group, they may work well for you.

I used Port Promotions to book 2 excursions in Alaska earlier this summer and was very happy with their service and the tours. Had good response to my emails and found out that Steve who sets up the tours is related to someone I know! Will definitely use their services again.

Neither of these companies run the tours, they are middle men that will book tours that are easily booked independently. I greatly prefer to deal directly with the operators to get the first hand information and times and details I wish. I never take any ship tours.

I NEVER use reservation services when I can easily book direct with the operator. If I have a question about my Alaska excursion, I don't want to talk to a girl in Florida who barely knows where Alaska is. And I've seen too many people in recent years have their vacation ruined when the reservation service shuts down with none of the excursions paid - it's just not worth taking that chance.
