MGT has 2 buses (both blue school buses), one a shuttle and the other a tour bus- which is an excellent introduction to Juneau with about a 20 min. stop at Mendenhall Glacier with the visitor center included. The SHUTTLE bus picks up at the dock and drops off at the visitor center- additional $3 for entering the visitor center if interested. The buses run every hour for the 20 min. transfer ( on the hour downtown, on the 1/2 hour at the visitor center or vise versa), depending on number of ships in port, they do add buses. It is important to head to their dock booth and purchase bus tickets to be sure you aren't waiting for several buses due to them being full. $10 round trip pp. Some cruiselines will also have shuttles but they were $15 round trip. If you have a long port day- and time- the city bus also is a very cheap option $1.50? Bus stop is a level one mile from the visitor center and it takes about an hour to get there from downtown, pick up is on Franklin across and down the street from the Red Dog. Small sign on the road. Be sure to verify return bus time from the glacier stop.
