Default misty fjords or valley of the glacier??

I will be traveling on the Diamond Princess on 6/25/05 with my husband and two teens (15 and 17). I am trying to decide between the valley of the glacier tour in Skagway or the Misty Fjords seaplane tour in Ketchikan. I would appreciate any comments on which one to choose. Thanks

WHAT mode of travel for the valley of the glacier??? Are you doing any other flights. But I totally disagree, Skagway is just excellent for glacier flights.

I was trying to book a helicopter tour but as of now, everything is booked. I am now looking at doing the seaplane to misty fjords but am not sure if I should keep trying to get the helicopter tour or book the misty fjords trip if I can. Finances force me to choose just one.

I will be no help at all here as you will see, but these were the two choices I had to make also, due to finances. I chose Misty fjords.

I was on a 14 day cruisetour and as soon as we started I was re-thinking the glacier tour and was wishing I did it too, because one never knows if one will have the chance again. So I nagged our road host and finally snagged 2 seats on the helicopter and did both. I just ate a little less (until the ship) and tried to save funds to afford both.

I was glad I did both,,they were excellant,,but between the two if I really had to pick just one,,the Mistys is it.

BTW,,if you want to email me off line, I can show you photos of both experiences with online albums I made to share with my other tour-mates that did neither of these.

I have done both flights several times, my clear favorite is a glacier helicopter landing. If Skagway fights are full, sorry , they will stay full as there is only one vender there, TEMSCO. I would suggest you consider Juneau if you want a helicopter with Coastal my top preference. As for Misty Fjords, look at direct booking- I have flown with Southeast Aviation, Carlin Air and Island Wings, any will give an excellent tour. I too suggest you cut back elsewhere, do some overtime, eat out less, skip costly home activities???
