Last year we stayed at the Downtown Comfort Suites [Roy St.] It was about 3 blocks from the Space Needle. We enjoyed our stay there for 2 nights before the cruise and 1 night after. They offer a complimentary shuttle van to the downtown area. This hotel did not break the bank and we felt was very reasonable with a good breakfast included.

Sally,
We are also staying there for our Sept cruise. Did they offer a shuttle to the pier?

Comfort Suites Downtown did arrange a shuttle to the pier for guests. You need to sign up for a time slot. I believe it was $6.00 to $8.00 PP depending of the pier. We took the driver's card and called him to pick us up at the end of the cruise as well as we were staying the night at the Comfort Suites before flying home.

Sally,
Thank you so much for the info. We are also staying one night after the cruise. We are so looking forward to this trip and our time in Seattle. Any other tips for us? I like to plan everything so there are no unwanted surprises. I was glad to read of someone who had stayed at this hotel - we got the 2 bedroom suite for less money than some of the other hotels were charging for just a room. Nice.

We were tired after a long flight and wanted someplace close to eat. There is a very good Thai restaurant a short walk from the hotel. Wonderful freshly prepared food. A Mediterranean restaurant is across the street in the same area. We found what looked like a great little Greek place on a side street and thought we would eat there post cruise but it was closed for vacation.
ALso there is the Steel Pig next door to the hotel which is Bar-B-Q. You might not realize it is a place to eat. It's a concrete building with a huge pig on top. There are a few picnic tables if you want to eat inside otherwise I think it was mostly a take out place. We had lunch there post cruise. It was quite good!
Enjoy your cruise. It will be wonderful!
