Would love to have more cruises out of Baltimore. We had sailed on the Carnival Miracle (it's first year) out of Baltimore. Our itinery was Key West, Nassau, Freeport. It was a very popular itinery people were calling TA to book this ship but Carnival eleminated it. It just seems strange when you have demand for a very popular port sailling a cruise line drops it? Not everyone wants to fly to Florida.
Actually the reason the ships have pulled out of Baltimore is because they will not build a cruise terminal. I worked for Celebrity in Baltimore and the facilities there can not handle the larger ships. The terminal did not even have real bathrooms, they had fancy port a pots. Also the really large ships can not get all the way up the bay to the harbor were the terminal is because it is not deep enough. We kept trying to get passengers to write the mayor to get them to build a cruise terminal because so many people liked to cruise there and the ships always left full. Norfolk and Philly did build terminals and you see many more ships leaving from those ports. I think Baltimore blew a great chance for the extra income it really needs. Cindy
