I have been on a few cruises and wondered if there is any trick to getting a nice table by the window in the dining room?
Am going on an Alaskan cruise with my husband and two kids and we have decided to just get a table for four in case others cruising don't wish to dine with children. I would love to have a table by the window in the dining room. Do you suggest I just request this via the maitre de' once on board? Thanks for any suggestions.
Yes. That is exactly right. Go see the maitre d' as soon as you board. Sometimes you may have to wait until the following day to actually get changed. Occasionally, it doesn' happen at all. Depends on how crowded it is and other factors. One of those is that window seats are very popular!
I have noticed on most of the cruises I've been on, the tables by the windows always seem to seat a larger number. You may opt to sit with others in order to get by a window, something to consider??
I have to agree with Donna. I too have noticed that most of the smaller tables ie: 2 or 4 seem to be nearer the center of the dining room for some reason. Most of the window tables are for 8, 10, or even 12. Head for the Maitre 'D as soon as you board the ship, and check what you have been assigned. If it isn't suitable, ask for what you desire. If it's available, I'm sure they'll take care of you.
Have a GREAT cruise.
I've never had a seat by the window and the one time I asked to be moved they said there was none availabe. The entire cruise I saw empty seats by the window......I know they were most likely assigned though.
