Default Flight Times

We're looking to book Southwest flying from Philly to Fort Lauderdale. We're sailing on the Valor at the end of August and are on the Riviera deck. The only concern for us is what time would be a good time to fly out after our cruise. Theres two flight options that we can pick: a.) Fly out of FLL at 12:05pm or b.) Fly out of FLL at 2:00pm. Thanks in advance.

I just checked thru the carrier we are flying with USA3000. You should check out their rates. Looks like low 64.99 one way to high 99.99 one way. Since you didn't say when you were going I just looked at what was available. We are flying with them out of Pittsburgh next Saturday.

Thank you for suggestion. Unfortunately for us there are no available flights out of Philly for the dates we need. So we decided to fly with Southwest.

Thanks I did with your suggestion and booked the 2pm flight. That way we don't have to be on a time crunch as soon as we get off the ship.

I also fly out of of FLL and my flight is at 1:15 however I'm sorry I did not book something alittle later then that.
I'll have to get off the ship extra early just in case.

I'm cruising out of Mia but using FLL airport.

Have fun on your cruise!

Default Flying out of Fort Lauderdale

Take the 12 noon flight, You will be off the ship by 9 am at the latest.
It's 15 minutes to the airport on side streets.
The security will be up to 60 minutes +/- 15 minutes.
The requirements for check-in is 60 minutes before the flight.
You will be through check-in and security with 1 1/2 hour to waste at the airport.

I suggest that you go on the internet and reconfirm your flight the night befor and keep the airline numbers in your cell, you can get flight updates and security line wait times via tele.

Go to the web site for the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood Int. Airport, they have all the restaurants and falcilities and other info.

All the flights will be full from 10:30 am - 6 PM from Cruise traffic.

In Ft Lauderdale you could have made a noon flight with no problem. But since its not a huge time difference, just take your time leaving the ship.... because you'll just be hanging around the airport.

In Miami a noon flight would be much trickier to make, if at all.

I hate to even ask this but we have a flight time of 11:24a.m. out of Miami and our ship docks in Ft. Lauderdale at 8a.m. If we do the self disembark will be make it?? And letting the pursers desk know we have this flight and time will that help?

It is a good idea to let pursers' desk know your situation, but remember that they have no control whatsoever over Immigration officials, who have to clear the ship before anyone can get off. Personally, I would pay any fees to get a later flight. Yes, it will cost you, but not as much as missing your flight would. Good luck.

I will be asking the desk for 1st early colored tags so I can get off the ship asap. However sometimes there are problems with customs.

I'm just hoping for the best. I'll stick with my 1:15pm flight and see what happens.

If they offer the check thru valet option that may be wise to take for the 12 noon flight. Early off and no hassle. We've done both noon and later flights with no problem, but favor the later flight, just in case

From my experience with RCCL, they always recommend no flight earlier that 12 noon. If you are docking at Fort Lauderdale and flying out of FLL, the airport is only a short trip from the cruise terminal. I would not want to stress myself so would book a flight for noon or later. Bob

We're actually cruising out of Miami and flying into and out of FLL. I should've been a little more specific. But thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind if I ever cruise out of FLL.
