We all know we have salt water in our veins, and love, love to be on a cruise! But, what part of the ships don't you use? If you don' t have kids, you probably would never see the childrens area. If you don't excersize, then why would you ever step foot in the gym, right?:) Not a lounge lizard either? So, what parts of the ship don't you explore?
But Now, what is your absolutely favorite little corner of the ship?

Trip,
There probably isn't a spot on the ship that I don't set foot in but there are places I may just take a peek into.
I don't go to the spa.
My favorite little place on a ship can be a daytime lounge where there is hardly a soul, other than a bartender, where I can have a drink, read or just visit with my wife, a passing soul or just people watch.
Take care,
Mike

Favorite by night - I'm with the Queen - a dance floor! (followed shortly thereafter by a balcony with DH
Favorite by day - I'm with Mike, I love to find a lounge that is pretty much deserted in the daytime where I can gaze out at the sea, read, catnap and have a libation or two. Gosh, makes me "seasick" thinking about it!
Least favorite - the gym, if I'm gonna exercise it's going to be on the walking track and weight lifting 12 oz. at a time. Although I do like to use the steam room, sauna and showers in the spa since they are usually much larger than those in the cabin.
I'm with the others,,,never use the gym, or Camp Carnival. Favorite during the day is the aft pool area, (on ships so equipped, and favorite at night, the big show lounge, or the smaller lounge where Karaoke is being performed. Sometimes, the piano bar,,,,if it isn't too smokey.
a quiet bar and my own balcony!
On the Fascination we found this area similar to window seats- the seats stuck our over the hull of the ship & you could look down at the water it was our favorite place to have a drink with friends and discuss the day and plan the next day.

During the day if we aren't in port the favorite spot would be the aft pool bar (if the bartender is good). Now we are taking our kids along so that will probably change to the kiddie pool. I did find on our last cruise with DD that is was fairly quiet there. I was surprised. During the evening we hang along the promanade with a beverage and people watch. Even our DD loved it.
We check out the whole ship but my least favorite is anywhere there is heavy smoking. For instance the cigar lounge. Some days I can't even walk through there.
Of course, if the choice was a cigar lounge on a ship or at home.... well I would definitely go with the lounge!!!

We really like to hang on the promenade deck with a good book, away from the noise. I love the walking track, spa, and various spots. I have to say though, the best part of being on the ship is enjoying the down time. I love to watch the band, too. I become a dancing fool.
Usually deck 7 forward (depending on the ship. Sometimes deck4) around midinght or 1:00 am. Looking out into the night taking it all in with DW standing next to me. Man, now that does it for me.
Love sitting near the pool and reading/people watching or if the chairs are good on the promenade.
While I don't need or use the kids area/gym I'm glad the ships have them for those that do need.
Don't go to many of the lounges unless there is a show/act we want to see. Never go to the casino unless it is to walk thru.

my secret little place is in my cabin at night, sitting in the window (wide sills on hal) sipping a last scotch neat and looking down at the waves the ship makes as it sails onward. sometimes i just reflect; other times i talk to the Maker. then i just slip down into bed. --- wonderful. i never have a balcony, because i usually sail solo, being a priest and all. i just love this experience, which is so hard to duplicate on land, at least for me. try it sometime. hombre, aka padre
I don't use the "Topless Deck" being a guy but do like to sneak a peek every now and then I don't use the gym or go to the Childrens area since children are grown.
LOOOOOVE the piano bar! at night and the other dance venues on the ship.
During the day, especially morning, I love to sit out on the deck under where the life boats are, usually 6 or 7 depending on ship and watch the ocean go by. Not too many people go there and it is peaceful and quiet. I haven't had a balcony yet but suspect that after our february cruise, our first with a balcony, It will become a favorite spot.

Marty, A gym is one of those places where they put a drink in your hand, and you exercise your biceps and triceps as you repeated raise and lower it I think.
