My first Carribean cruise on Freedom of the seas April 29, 2012. I haven't planned anything yet. Which is hard for me to do. But I want my hubby to help with the planning and if I start my normal planning stuff he won't join in and he will just let me plan the whole thing. So I'm playing chicken with him. See how long it takes before he wants to start planning.

hmmm Not sure if I posted this. Going on the Emerald Princess on Nov. 28 for 10 days.
Just came back from Wales where we did land because we were visiting family.
I love my family dearly, but the next time we go for a visit it will be with a ship at the beginning or end of the visit.
Felix, is the Emerald Princess a southern Caribbean cruise? We considered doing either a 10 day Celebrity or princess cruise for the southern Caribbean instead of flying to San Juan. we want a port in San Juan and a port in Grenada if we book one of these cruises.
However, if we stay with the transatlantic next year we have booked, we will have to wait until 2013, as the transatlantic takes most of my husband's vacation time.

This one is the southern out of FLL. It stops in Aruba, Bonaire, Grenada, Dominica, St. Thomas and Princess Cays.

Yes, I guessed it was that one-so my hubby would prefer a 7 day out of San Juan with a couple of extra days there before returning home. Now if it was San Juan instead of St. Thomas, he would agree.

We've done San Juan both on ship and pre-cruise. The problem I find with the cruises that stop in San Juan - most don't arrive til about 2 pm. Not much time to see sites.
The one we're doing has 3 ports we've never been to - Grenada, Bonaire and Dominicia. That's why we choice it.

We have hit most the spots there. We loved the rain forest. My hubby would like to see the fort-for some reason it was closed when we were there-we thought because it was a Sunday-but I was later told the fort is open year round.
Dominca has a nice rain forest also. Be sure to ask them about mountain chicken-!

We are going on the Voyager Nov 26 from New Orleans. We love to cruise, but this is our first on the Voyager class. Soooo excited after working 6 and 7 days a week since spring..hubby and I are ready for rest and relaxation.
Is there a site that shows what rooms are not booked. Can we change our rooms, pay for upgrade if we dont like our room on deck 6 after we get on board?
Thanks,
Cathy

Rarely are there cabins to change to, once onboard, so I would not count on that. If you feel you may not like that cabin location, talk to your t/a and see if you can upgrade before the cruise.

Donna, the 9 dayer does a the Eastern Carrib which includes San Juan and St Kitts. Of course the usual St Thomas and St Maarten are included as well. It ends with a day in Labadee. I am looking forward to that trip a lot.

Hi Jen, You are in for a very pleasant suprise, I think you will find this ship amazing.. There are so many things to do onboard, and while it is huge, it never has that crowded feeling.
We really loved the Jewel of the Seas. We decided she is the most beautiful ship we have cruised in 19 cruises-18 ships.
Next winter we are planning to book a short Caribbean cruise of 4 or 5 days-either the Jewel of the Seas of Celebrity Constellation. We haven't booked yet-will decide once we can back from the Med.
