Default Poll..dining on a cruise

So you have planned your cruise, and now you need to decide your dining options. What is your opinion of all the new options onboard...your favorite type of pay dining option, and your least favorite type?

I would not likely pay extra to dine on a cruise ,not because of cost but because I do not eat meat fish or fowl with few exceptions .

I can't reply to the poll since I choose Anytime dining, sometimes pay the extra, use room service, and buffet. For me, the traditional dining is hampered by any shore excursions.

The good news is I have many choices, on my preferred cruise line.

I have dined in the specialty restaurants before but will not waste my money again as the food isn't really any better then the MDR.

I think the alternative venues are a welcome change, the service & atmosphere are superb, the only thing I would say is the dinner can take a lot longer & company does make the experience better. I think there are two sorts of people, those who just want to eat & those who want more of a dining experience, some only ever go to the self service, no right or wrong just how you are.

We will on next years cruise eat at the steak house aboard Freedom. We have a $100.00 OBC so it will go for that!

Never have and never will pay to eat in any dining room on a cruise. The one time we were on NCL they could not fill even one of the MDR and yet the reservations for any of the others were almost impossible to get mainly because they never had anyone answering the phones. And we have always been very satisfied with the food in the MDR on the other lines and actually have heard that the food in the extra pay was no better and actually less than the MDR so why would we want to pay for that. And we will never pay for the "special steak" in the MDR if there is no speciality dining room on the ship.

We enjoy eating in the Pinnacle Grill on HAL during a cruise. We find the ambiance most enjoyable and the food is a step up from the MDR selections. We are never rushed.

Food on a cruise is not that high up on the list of what I am willing to use my spending money for, but perhaps that will change after I get more cruises under my belt.

These days its harder to get the traditional dining, so I like to mix it up. Eat in the regular dinning room, try the buffet one evening and then one of the alternative restaurants.
