Default Pool side relaxation....ahhhhh

Is one of your main enjoyments on a cruise, to lounge by the pool? Some pool areas are absolutley gorgeous, while others.....ahh, not so much....Do you like to be in the midst of the action, or find the aft pools, more enjoyable?

How about hot tubs, love em, or cringe worthy? And, those strappy lounges? OY! On the Epic, on raised platforms, they had mattresses..bet you have to get up early to get those babies!

Have a ship pool that's a favorite? I loved the old NCL Seaward...Huge by todays standards, with a wide surround, for just lounging in an inch or two...The Princess Grand class had beautiful pool areas, but screwed it up, with a wall surrounding it....people watchers like me, were not happy! Epic lost me, with sprawling pool slides, and teeny pools..ugh.....How about you, what do you love about fun in the sun, poolside?

Lazing by the pool is one of my favorite things about cruising...Nope, doesn't have to be right by the pool. In fact on most Royal Caribbean ships, I go one deck up and still can enjoy any pool activities. When I get really warm, its still easy to go down and take a dip...

I did not care for the pool deck on Carnival Glory, just too small for the amount of passengers. I did notice on Freedom of the Seas, ample room and enough lounge chairs, was never a problem. I am hoping it will be the same on Allure of the Seas when I sail her next Oct....

I don't lounge around the pools. first, I am too hyper to sit anywhere too long;; I go crazy in the theaters having to sit for 50 mins during a show; that's why I won't see Chicago on Allure next month. Second; I have had skin cancer so I keep out of the sun.

I like to lounge around aft or above the pool, read and listen to live music. The big video screens seem to be crowding out live performers, sending me to the back. That's okay I like to watch the wake as much as people.

I can't lounge by the pool for an extended time. Just laying out bugs me. If I'm doing something I can be in the sun all day but just sitting in a lounge chair drives me crazy.

My DW, on the other hand, can lounge all day so I will do my best to spend an hour or so with her.

We rarely lounge near the pool but rather on an upper deck but my wife has to have the sun "at the right angle" for maximum effect.

She also likes to lay out on the balcony.

Take care,
Mike

love to be at the pool, either in the middle of all the activity at the main pool, especially when they have a band playing, or relaxing at the spa or aft pool

Talking Pool lounging

The pool lounging is not my thing. Besides finding it uncomfortable and noisy, I am pretty sensitive to the sun. On rare occasions DW will go lounge by the pool and I will sit in the shade nearby.

BUT -- now the Thermal Suite is another thing entirely! When the ship has one, it is the first thing we book. Lounging on the mosaic couches heated from inside, watching the ocean go by through the window -- then into the sauna, then the steam room, and finally the tropical rain shower -- and then hit the red button for the icy mist! That is relaxing!
