Default Do you miss cruise brochures?

They are still out there, but how many of you use them? Recently when I was at AAA to get Euros, I made a dash for the brochure rack. Boy, there were not as many as there used to be, but,I did pick up a few.

Technology has taken over for sure, but clicking back and forth online,is sometimes tedious. Do you still use them at all? Prefer the online way of browsing? There is something said for instant gratification though.

I remember the day, when cruisers waited for the newset brochures, seems
like the olden days now.

I did miss the paper brochures, but I've adapted to the computer "brochures" now. The best thing about them is that you can see a price change (less!) almost immediately.

Cruise brochures have gone the way of the phone book. There's a lot better and faster way to get the information.

Back when cruising was "Exciting and New" and they bid you to "Come a board. We're expecting you", brochures were fun to look at.

As Snoozeman said; The brochure has gone the way of the phone book. The pricing is inaccurate and the "pictures", while beautiful and enticing" don't really depict the true product. It's like the Macy's catalog. I don't think I'll look as good in those jeans as the six pack ab guy. At least with the Macy's promotion catalog I know that I can buy them for $30 and that's what they'll actually cost.

I use the websites to find my information.

One thing I've noticed lately is that websites of two to three years ago were better. The cruise lines, like everyone else, is using far too much Flash Player animation and making it harder and slower to get to the information you really want.

Take care,
Mike

It was interesting...very limited selection of cruise lines on the rack, and all european itineraries. They would save oodles if they went strictly online I would imagine. They would alienate people without computers,,but, that is getting harder to do.

Oh yes, Trip, I remember having a pile of them all the time, not anymore...I did like having something in paper to read, same with cruise docs....a thing of the past, however sadly.

Thumbs up Brochures

... well, since my DW is a Travel Agent, her agency is always looking for room to store the boxes and boxes of brochures they still get! In fact she usually gets advance copies, even before the internet gets the new itineraries, which is sort of fun! I still love looking through them.

The major thing I use brochures for is the deck plans! Having them all spread out on a two page section is the most convenient way to look things over. In fact, I tear those two pages out and take them with us, because there is almost never a map available on board that is as good!
