And that level of detail has been captured from a standard commercial satellite, I wonder just how powerful the military/government ones really are?

Alan.

Question

I might be wrong but it looks fake to me.The size off the ship compared to the land and things on the land looks off to me. Seems if you were to set the ship on the land at that scale the ship would be miles long .

Ya know Dhill I thought the same thing when I first saw it. I posted that the scale seemed off but it could just be me.

There is a video being passed around that claims to be flooding on the Concordia but it has been debunked and shown to be the water from a broken pipe/pool on the Carnival Paradise.

I am convinced thats a fake picture.Take a ruler and measure the ship then measure the same distance from the shore inland and at that attidue the ship would be miles long!

I checked the satellite map on Google. The peninsula nearest the ship is 500 to 600 feet long, so the relative size of the ship looks OK.

I have to agree with all, it looked odd to me to start with until I started looking at the sizes of things around it, and also seeing how small the island was. All the quality UK broadsheet newspapers have also used the same image, and I trust/expect them to have checked things out.
